Bank Of The Maroons

BANK OF THE MAROONS

Bank of the Maroons is established to serve the citizens of all Maroon Nations and the global Maroon diaspora. It exists as a financial institution dedicated to empowering Maroon communities by providing access to loans, as well as the opportunity to open checking and savings accounts, or both.

The Bank will have branches throughout all Maroon communities, ensuring accessibility and inclusion. Leadership of the Bank will rest with the Chief or an appointed Governor designated by the Chief, ensuring that the institution remains rooted in Maroon sovereignty and guided by trusted authority.

Govenor of the Bank

The Governor of the Bank of the Maroons holds a vital leadership role in ensuring that the financial operations of the bank remain aligned with the values, customs, and economic needs of the Maroon people. Appointed directly by the Chief or designated by the Chief’s authority, the Governor serves as the highest executive officer of the bank, responsible for overseeing its strategic direction, day-to-day administration, and long-term sustainability.

The Governor will work closely with local branch managers, financial officers, and Maroon community leaders to develop lending programs, promote financial literacy, and ensure that all Maroons—whether at home or in the diaspora—have fair and equal access to financial services. In addition, the Governor will ensure that all operations of the bank uphold Maroon laws, traditions, and principles of self-reliance, while fostering economic growth and investment within Maroon territories.

The Governor’s leadership will be both accountable to the Maroon people and rooted in the sacred duty of preserving Maroon economic independence and sovereignty.
